Océ TV shortlisted for award

February 2011

The Fifth Business has been shortlisted for two prestigious industry awards in just two months! Following our E-learning Age Award nomination for the Roll-Royce GHOST programme, the company was recently nominated for a Scottish IoIC (Institute of Internal Communications) Award for Océ TV, which will be announced in March.

The Fifth Business created the innovative Océ TV portal, an internal 'YouTube' to allow employees to access company videos via an internal website. The benefit of such a portal over the use of YouTube, enabled The Fifth Business to create a fully Océ branded website that is used specifically as an internal communication tool for uploading, distributing and archiving video.

Océ's Internal Communications Manager stated, "In addition to the very positive feedback we have received from our employees regarding Océ TV being an excellent tool for internal communications, the portal has also benefited other areas of our business. For example, we have sales offices in 32 countries and we sell our equipment through distributors in 70 more countries. As most of our equipment is very large (format printers and printing equipment), our sales representatives can never actually show our products when visiting customers. With Océ TV our salespeople can now show videos during their visits to prospects and existing customers."

The Fifth Business has been shortlisted in the category of 'Best Use of Audio/Visual Communication' along with just three other companies.

The Scottish IoIC Awards aim to highlight the continuing excellent work throughout the industry in Scotland. The Fifth Business will attend the Scottish IoIC Award Ceremony on the 4th March at The George Hotel in Edinburgh.
