Building on the creative work done by The Fifth Business at the BBC innovation lab earlier this year, The Fifth Business was recently commissioned to develop a website to support the live broadcast of the BBC’s Great Climb.

The Great Climb television production was commissioned to celebrate the 40 years since the live “Great Man of Hoy” climb. It features a live broadcast of a series of climbing races in the Cairngorms mountain range in Scotland. The production company, Triple Echo Productions, asked The Fifth Business to create and develop the supporting website for the show.

The interactive site features a 3D model of the mountain and climb routes with information on the climbers, the production team and other interesting facts from behind the scenes. According to Paul Allan, Global Design Manager for The Fifth Business, “we are always excited when we get to work on something as interesting as this for the BBC. I believe that we created a great website that was successfully received by the BBC and Triple Echo Productions. We are proving that we have a great offer in this arena and we will continue to build on this relationship.”
